Alan spent 20 years in the Advertising Industry in Australia & Singapore before becoming in 1990, the youngest Managing Director in Australia’s second largest agency group BBDO.
In 1994 Alan left Australia to join Indonesia’s second largest tobacco group Sampoerna as Marketing Director, leading a marketing support team of 1600 and an annual budget in excess USD40 million. The brief was to restructure the companies brand portfolio, in 1997 the company was sold to Philip Morris for USD$9 Billion and Alan relocated to Singapore, where he established a marketing consultancy (Challenge Asia) specialising in developing new and expanding existing markets, particularly in the ASEAN Region. Clients included Sampoerna International, Coca Cola, Intel, Jones Lang LaSalle and Garuda.
GGI Energy Pte Ltd was established in 2010 and Alan joined as CEO and major Shareholder and has focused on renewable energy projects in the Philippines and the ASEAN region.
